“Take a moment and think about what you want to hold in your arms as you die. What favorite room in your house or space could accommodate that last breath? If we asked those questions more often, I think we’d stay out of storables. We’d focus less on stuff and shift our attention toward people and experiences — the things that make us truly happy.”
Loved this quote from Tammy Strobel’s book: “You Can Buy Happiness (And It’s Cheap): How One Woman Radically Simplified Her Life and How You Can Too.” She and others like her are questioning the big is better, accumulation- will- make- you- feel better mindsets, and going the other direction.
Here’s a video on the tiny house movement. Do you think you could let go of a few things?
I let go, not really because of my own decision to, but just because I knew there was something better for my own growth. I let go to start a new chapter in a little loft within a little house.
But there is more streamlining to come. And it’s all good.
Tell me–have you had to let go of any big things in your life—or have you willingly let go of a few things recently?
